After listening to some feedback from outside this forum I've decided that my price is too high. Should have realized early on that one cannot hope to recoup what was poured into this or any car. The Wharton started life in March 2010 as a 1967 Austin Healey Mark IV Sprite. The Sprite came to me with an '85 Mazda 13B "old-school" rotary, a 5-speed manual and an Arkley SS body. The car is titled as that Mark IV, thus the collector tag. The WhartonRoadster.com frame was custom built to carry the 13B motor and transmission riding on the front spindles and independent rear end from a '97 Jag sprung by Aldan Eagle coil-overs. In November 2014 we pulled the engine and rear suspension. The engine was completely rebuilt, street ported and a Holley 650 cfm double-pumper was fitted. The Jag rear suspension was replaced with a 2004 Miata suspension including a 4.11 Torsen Differential. These mods lightened the car to just over 1600 pounds and upped the power to over 200 HP. The entire build is documented in pictures and with receipts. ALSO LISTED AT http://www.whartonroadster.com/cars-for-sale.html email: joemacdonald@custommotion.com mobile: 321-745-9769 I AM NOW ASKING $20,500 TRADES AND/OR OFFERS STILL CONSIDERED.

1700+ pounds sounds a little bit heavy for such a car. Most Lotus 7 replicas weigh considerably less than that. If it were mine, I'd throw it on some scales for a current weight with some fuel.

Just a thought.......

Good eye. That should have been just over 1600 pounds. Still a little heavy but I opted for welded steel chassis panels instead of riveted and glued aluminum - Stronger crush zones since this is a daily driver.

Hello, Hate to throw a wrench in the spokes but...... There is no such thing as a 67 bug eye sprite. That is absolute. That said, you have a really cool car for sale. I suggest you remove the reference to the bug eye. Best regards! http://daytona.craigslist.org/cto/5381348234.html Sent from mobile phone.

hello to you as well, no wrenches in spokes here. i learned something new before my first cup of coffee was brewed. visiting wikipedia i learned that '67 was the penultimate year for the sprite and that a '67 sprite is a mk4. thanks for the heads up. regards, joe
