So, this is sort of sudden and may or may not happen but a VERY good opportunity just came up and I'm trying all I can to make it work. Take note I drive this car to and from the track, it is registered and insured. So anything is possible with it! :P

Year: 1983 Car: Mazda RX-7 Mileage: Unknown Title: No (It is registered in my name though, doesn't legally need a title)

This is a 1983 RX-7 that was originally raced out west with the SCCA in the Pro 7 category. It is a race car, not recommended for the street, but it DOES have windows still, headlights and tail lights work, blinkers do not.

The car currently races in IT7 here in Georgia and I have ran with both SCCA and HSR (Historic Sprots Car Racing). The car has a CURRENT annual tech/logbook.

The car is a fantastic car and for the price it's in great shape.

The car comes with LOADS of paperwork such as:

1 FULL folder of carb notes, suspension info, etc. Tri-Link RX-7 Suspension Book Haynes and Chilton manuals. Race results, notes, etc.

The car is an old car, so expect some small issues here and there for example the dash is pretty chewed up, if I kept it I'd replace it eventually. I wanted to get around to removing the sound deadening and painting the interior but have not yet. Most of the issues are all cosmetic, it has a few small oil drips, never ran hot, never ran low on oil, it's still a healthy 12A. Starts up, idles, and drives.

Modifications:

-Tokico shocks -Aftermarket springs (unknown type) -Aftermarket sway bars w/adjustable end links. -Full custom exhaust w/muffler. (Still quite loud) -Race header. -Full 6 point SCCA/NASA legal roll cage. It's a bolt in from its Pro7 days. -Kirkey Road Race seat. -Handheld fire extinguisher. -Grant GT wheel. -Panasport 13x7 wheels w/Toyo RA1 tires (good life left) -Porterfield race pads. -SS brake lines -Front air dam -Rats nest and all removed. -OMP blocked off. (I pre-mix 1 ounce per gallon) -5 point harness good until 12/31/2014. -Panel wink mirror. -Kill switch, Longacre switch pannel.

New Parts:

-Clutch, Pressure Plate, T/O bearing, Pilot bearing replaced summer 2013. Two events on it all. (Exedy) -Wheel bearings finished 9/2013 one event on them. -Rear caliper seals (10/2012) -Brake slave cylinder (10/12) -Radiator (10/2013)

Spares:

-4 Diamond Racing wheels (one is possibly bent) -6 Toyo RA1 tires (all completely useable) -Radiator -Driveshaft -2 spare 5 speed transmissions (one needs a rebuild the other is in great mechanical shape but taken apart) -Rotors -Front brake pads -Brand new front calipers. -2 Nikki rebuild kits. -Tons of other random/misc. items

The ONLY reason I am selling is to buy a newer race car. If I didn't have to I'd just keep it in the shop and run it every now and then or something. I love this car to death and have put a lot of work into it.

Most of the work was done by the previous owners but since purchasing I've done a lot to it and have gone through a lot of the car to fix little things that weren't as good as they could be. The car needs a good owner.

The car is currently getting the radiator fixed (small leak) and re-arranging the fuel filter arrangement, other than that it could be raced tomorrow.

I AM ASKING $3,500.00 Located minutes from Road Atlanta. Will offer track side support at Road Atlanta!

(Drink bottle/holder & iPhone mount not included)

ALWAYS ran with air filter and cover.

They have 4 days on them since and loads of life left. -4 Diamond Racing 13x7 wheels with Toyo R888 tires. (One possibly bent, tires are very worn) -6 Toyo RA1 tires in great shape. -1 new Hankook rain tire for emergency. -2 older OEM radiators for spares -1 Driveshaft. -2 Transmisions (one is good but needs to be put back together, the other needs a rebuild) -Box of repair manuals, setup notes, carb tuning notes, suspension notes, etc. -2 new Nikki (carb) rebuild kits. -New front brake pads (ones on the car are still very very good) -5 good but used brake rotors. -1 Spare intake manifold. -2 new spare alternator belts. -1 new spare pilot bearing. -1 new spare Energy Suspension shock bushing set. -2 new front brake calipers. -2 new brake caliper rebuild kits. -1 new Kirkey lumbar support foam. -1 new oil pan gasket. -1 new oil filter. -Stock passenger seat. -Box of good wheel bearings (greased) -2 alternators -OEM clutch fan w/shroud -1 spare water pump housing. -1 used "weekend emergency" pressure plate. -1 new spare Longacre side mirror (just in case) -1 plastic measuring bottle for pre-mix. The 7 is tempting, with two issues. First is that IT suspension usually seems way too hard for rallycross, and rallycross is my thing. The second is lack of a title. Maybe it wouldn't be a problem getting it titled in Texas, but I need a car I can road register and at least drive to the close events. It looks like a fantastic deal.

Technically it's not full IT suspension, it's just shocks and springs not high coilover spring rates or anything.

I didn't know other states required titles, in GA if it's below an 84 or something you just need a bill of sale. It's tagged and insured now in my name, I do drive it to and from events! haha

In reply to simontibbett:

Of which since thats the law there, I don't see why someone couldn't get a title issued in another state. The PITA one is a straight up lost title in a state that still requires them.

Yeah I would figure with a proper bill of sale that could be done. I thought maybe I'd get a title when I went to register it but they don't do that.

I'll stop by the court house and ask them tomorrow. Technically I could call, but it's much easier to get answers out of grumpy middle aged women when you can smile and bat your eyelashes at them. I do like the idea of this car.

Bahaha that's so true. Call and get an answer and then when you go someone will tell you something completely different.

All you need is a bill of sale and proof that the seller owns the car. Of course a notarized bill of sale helps and for proof, a copy of an excise bill or an old registration will do. We run into that sort of thing up here all the time because all of the states around here didn't issue titles for older cars until recently,,,er until they discovered another source of revenue.

Well if anyone is worried it would be no issue to have a notarized bill of sale, I also have current proof of registration in my name.
