I have 5 cars and 4 parking spaces!

The Saab Ute Turbo Challenge car has to go.

I will sell the car and all spares for $500 picked up in Austin, TX.

I’m sad you’re so far away, but also trying to stick to not buying cars

Manual or automatic? Roll cage? Mechanical condition? I'm interested!

Local Austinite here, I'm not familiar with the car, got a link to the build?

If it's similar to how it was when I last saw it: it is manual and turbo (boost turned way up and bigger turbo attached), no roll cage, and it good enough condition to flat tow another challenge car across Gainesville, compete in the challenge itself, and then drive all the way home to Texas no issues.

In all honesty it should be pretty darn good. All shocks are new and every bushing in the suspension is polyurethane and recently changed. Motor and trans mounts fresh. Bigger turbo like I said. "Crossflow" intercooler from hotter Saabs.

Ready to hoon.

I’ve driven that car. I didn’t want to like it. I failed.

Can you please provide some info about the current condition of the car? Looks like it would make for one hell of a fly and drive... and when you already have five Saabs on the property, what's a sixth?

Posting more photos of this isn't helping kill my interest in it.

Add me to the list of people who have driven this and were impressed by how excellent it was.  I have also been towed by it and was similarly impressed.

It's a class 5 hitch from a Chevy 3500. (The 2.5 incher) so the hitch is rated to tow a 747. The vehicle, however, is not similarly rated.

Also the tow hitch is bolted onto the factory frame rails pretty well (in like 6 places), but I would recommend that anyone getting ready to "tow" with it review that build closely so you know what you are working with.

I think Saab 9-3 was rated to tow 2k lbs? I can't remember. Maybe it was 3500.

That was one of my favorite parts of the car. I mentioned the idea for the sticker to one of my buddies and he made the design and used his vinyl cutter to make one and showed up at my house like 10 minutes before we left for the challenge.

I still need to get with him to make some T-shirts with the same design.

Thanks Robbie for posting your build links and pictures!

I am at work out of the country for the next week. I'll try to get my brother-in-law to take a few pics. But I have one from a few weeks ago:

Sorry about that other car blocking the view...

The condition is almost the same as when I got the car. It is a little dirtier of course.

I did Rally-X the car one time which resulted in some cracked glass behind the driver side window and the plexiglass rear window had a crack as well.

But it does fly really good!

I don't remember the guys name. Like I said, I lost his card. :(

No harm in kicking a tire.  I tried to send you an e-mail, let me know if you didn't get it.

In reply to chudlo :

That picture makes me REALLY happy. I will try to go to that photographers website and buy a copy.

It was one of the only Saab pickup trucks already, and now it is also one of the fewish 4 wheeled Saabs to go airborne. The middle of that Venn diagram has to be incredibly small.

If I remember correctly he was an Asian guy, seemed like one of the younger ones on the team (freshman maybe?). I bet most people on the team know who he is.

I bought all of the photographer's copies of the Ute from the event. I have them at home....

It was a blast to drive the car! I got 7 out of 10 runs completed before a coolant hose popped off. I got it back on and drove home without any problems! I haven't driven the car since the rally-x last year.

I don't remember him being Asian....
