Badge on the dash says "8 Plus Buick Power"

And it is listed as a 1978 Dutton Lotus 7 recreation kit project - $3950

Someone throw some learning at me.

looks like "B Plus Buick Power" to me

means it probably had a "Buick/Rover V8" in it, at some point?

I recognize the name Dutton, probably from building 7-esque cars like these.

Ha! It was mine years ago! Traded it to a guy in Wellsboro and I last saw it at Import Carlisle 3 years ago.

What engine did it have, and why the “B Plus Buick Power” badge?

Looks to be about $3450 overpriced.

Not quite A-

If that thing really had a Buick 455 it would have been insane.

Well, it looks like a Dutton kit car, and the ad says Dutton, so I'd venture a guess that it's a a Buick-powered Dutton.
