I'm thinking i need more truck, as there is a possibility of a 2 car trailer in the near future.
towed the Z to the challenge.
The Alavanche - named by my son when he was 2 - has been in my posession for 2 years and 6 months. It is a 2005 Z71 LT with no cladding, the highest optioned truck you could get. 153ishK miles, 5.3.
Options include power heated leather seats, power sliding sunroof, roof rack, navigation system, satellite radio, step bars, tow package, 4.10 gears. Truck is rated to tow 8,000lbs from the factory. I've cared for the truck to the best of my ability for a daily driver, it is originally from rockville MD and has seen 2 cleveland winters so it's not a northeast ohio rotbox.
I had the trans rebuilt at 120k by a reputable local shop when the pump failed. Rear axle was replaced in february with an H2 9.5" 14 bolt. Monday, that rear axle was gone through completely at the driveline shop and all components cleaned/checked, all new bearings installed and new seals and set up correctly, as the pinion bearing started failing. Wheels are Vision tech 17x8 and tires are hankook dynapro 265/70/17(stock size) and those have 5k miles on them. Front brakes have 3k miles on stock replacement rotors and ceramic pads along with new AC delco calipers. Rears have 5k on new rotors and AC delco calipers and ceramic pads. Rear panhard was replaced with a QA1 bar with poly bushings. Tuneup done 3k ago with Delco rapidfire plugs. All steering components replaced between box and spindles with AC Delco or Moog HD parts 5k miles ago. Right ball joints replaced 3k ago, lefts are in boxes and go with the truck.
Issues: Cracked windshield - down by wipers, below my sight line, from snow hitting the warm windshield. SES on for O2 sensor and minor evap leak code, I have low mile upstream O2's to go with if not installed sooner by myself. I need to reinstall the front CV shafts with new boots as I removed them trying to diagnose what turned out to be the rear pinion bearing failing. Small chip in each taillight from moving things in and out of the bed by careless college kid that helped me for a couple months last summer, otherwise they are LED's and are very bright.
GRM price: $8500. I feel that's pretty aggressive given the upkeep, beefed up rear axle, option level of the truck, almost new wheels/tires/brakes and taking into account that someone might want a new windshield and to diagnose the evap leak to get the engine light off. I have not/will not list the truck anywhere else. If it's not going to stay in the GRM family it's going to stay in mine.
disclaimer - I still owe on this truck, so purchaser would have to understand that, and i would ask for the amount i owe as a deposit with a bill of sale so i could pay it off and get the title, with balance due upon receipt of title and truck.
