Glad it sold. I would have put in a full interior and daily drive that thing, straight over every curb and speed bump I could find, flat out.

I had no "need" for this truck but with Robbie's comment about hitch I was then having visions of driving 1k miles down to FL in my Prius and then renting a tow Uhaul tow dolly.  Put the Prius on the dolly and drive the truck back (maybe with ear plugs.)

At $1.30 per gallon of gas at 44mpg the Prius would need less than $30 of fuel to make the trip down and then maybe triple that to drive the truck back north.  Add in dolly of probably $150 and then 2 hotel nights at $100 each, the whole move was looking like $500-ish.    And then there is the whole travel restriction thing!!!

FWIW the whole travel restriction thing doesn't seem like it's actually much of a thing, unless they're actually enforcing it up your way?

There's a neighborhood near me with a bunch of "speed tables". Their width was just perfect to hit at about 35 mph. Lol

I really hope we see it at some events here in CO! We've got a few Tacoma's that come out, and a Raptor ran last year.

Not sure if the new owner will chime in here or not.  He seems to be pretty displeased with me, as the truck showed up to him with a right front wheel bearing that was very wonky and loose.  I explained to him that I had just put about 60 miles on it through the Ocala National Forest trails and had driven it 5 miles to the truck driver's meet up point - all without any indication whatsoever of any problems.  I would have had no qualms about setting off on a 100 mile road trip in it.  But, somehow, when it got to Colorado, the wheel was so wobbly and loose that it immediately lost braking power, the wheel was flopping around, and it was undriveable.

Did the truck driver load it poorly?  Did he do some joy riding?  I don't know, but I gave it to the truck driver in a 100% solid state.  I wish I was rich and could offer the guy some money for his troubles.  But I already let it go cheaper than I wanted to, i'm not rich, and I delivered a good truck to the driver.  E36 M3ty situation :(

My neighbor used to haul cars. I would bet everything in my wallet that the truck driver took it for a spin.

Source: May or may not have driven some cars that cost more that my house...wink

Could it have had undue pressure put on the bearing by how it was tied-down on the trailer for the journey? The position of the strap or hook? Cranking the living $h!t out of it at a weird angle? Just a thought.

Ugh, that's terrible. All the more reason to spring for the fancy enclosed transport from a specialist that owns its own fleet. Money well spent!

I guess this thread got bumped by a canoe, and then the post was deleted?  Anybody seen this truck around Colorado?

I'd love to know as well... This thread coming back around makes me want to build something similar. I really wanted to buy this back when it came around but the timing wasnt right.
