Is it a rare ’60s European? they’ll ask. Some kind of Mini-like oddity only sold on the continent?

It’s really a Nissan Pao, one of the brand’s home market retro cars circa 1990. So while it looks vintage, the mechanicals actually come from a then-contemporary Nissan Micra, down to the three-speed automatic and 51-horsepower engine.

The Pao wasn’t imported to the States but, thanks to the 25-year rule, are now fair game. About 50,000 were produced, but they remain fairly unusual here.

This one is available via Cars & Bids. Current price is $5000 with the sale ending January 23.
