The VW Golf might not be your first idea of a potential overlanding vehicle, but someone at Wolfsburg apparently thought otherwise.

Meet the Golf Country, the off-road version of the Mk2 Golf. Built with help from Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria, the Country received the Syncro all-wheel-drive system and more than 8 inches of ground clearance.

This 1992 example–one of only 7735 said to have been built–currently shows 138,764 kilometers on the odometer, or roughly 86,223 miles.

Find this 1992 VW Golf Country for sale from LBI Limited for $37,000.
