Classic Team Lotus at the US F1 Grand Prix

Hi all,

While visiting the Lotus factory and Classic Team Lotus workshops this summer, I stumbled into an amazing invitation (from Clive Chapman!) to join CTL as a helper during the F1 Grand Prix support race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. As you may know, it was a soggy affair -- but I still had an amazing time. I thought I would share the pictures that I took, since many of you will probably appreciate them.

The Classic guys really got hosed at Austin this year thanks to the weather. They never got a green lap, which was a real shame.

The second practice session on Friday was good. The drivers were told beforehand that it might count as qualifying if Saturday was rained out. As it turns out, it counted as both qualifying and the race itself
