I raced against one at Portland  once.  I rarely have too much trouble with 356s (I race a fairly highly modified MGA Twin Cam) but in the case of this guy I was having to drive as hard as I did back in regular SCCA sty;e racing. Finished a short neck ahead of him and went over to take a look and saw the 4 cam engine when he opened the hatch.

Had to hand it to him, he was thrashing an engine worth c. $250K within an inch of its life.
