At least you have a snow blower made after the Johnson years. Mine was built in 1963 and is a beast that doesn't much like cold starts without a healthy shot of ether.

Luckily, we've had virtually none of that crap here. I drove my Mini on dry roads this weekend.

Its a Eaton Viking, starts well. Its a tecumseh engine. Only set back this weekend was I sheered the auger bolt.

Tried using a regular bolt and it ate them for lunch.

I guess I should try and clean her up this summer.

We figure its circa 65-70?

Driving, I wish... I wont be taking the 6 out anytime soon. Salt kills.

As a Florida resident I have to ask about that silver and red device. Actually, I grew up on Long Island and we had something similar in the garage. I don't think ours was that old. It was green and white, but I forget the brand. Sometimes it was just easier to shovel.

Shovel, I'd rather die.

In actual fact I find shoveling just compresses my back and for days I'm annoyed.

Mind you since I've become a dad I've been a lot better. Must be that wiggling sack of potatoes which likes to be carried about :)

I told my wife, my retirement plan is to own a RV or trailer with onboard car carrier for a certain LBC. Then I can run away from the snow.

Well, we were like 12 at the time, so swinging a shovel wasn't too bad.

Hmmm... My boy's 10 and I'm not sure he knows which end of a shovel to hold.

My ~Escort Race Car~ is sitting outside under a car cover that has still got lots of snow on it. Only my ~British Car~ gets to live in a garage.

And my Miata daily driver has never seen the inside of a garage (below). Yeah, Spring can't come soon enough for me!

A,

My heart goes out for you. I used to live in the east and parked my TR's for months. Now in Seattle, there is no salt, it's just rain, so they get out to play occassionally.

Back when I was a kid in the 60's blowers were not common on Long Island. We used to show up at peoples houses, with shovels on our shoulders, and offer to clear the show from their driveways and sidewalks. We negotiated good $$$'s to do it, then whistled for our buddy with the blower. We made some serious change, for kids.

My parents sent me some pictures from Ottawa's last storm that look a whole lot worse than Andre's! We never had a blower when I lived there either, and I can tell you that Ottawa snow is good exercise.

I'll take the Locost out this weekend to celebrate the most pleasant time of the year in Grand Junction. I took the Mini to work on Monday. Soon enough I'll be melting in the heat and wishing I was back in Ontario.

You'll need to log in to post.
