My dad was out doing his appraiser thing today when he passed what he thought was a BMW 2002. He called me to let me know where it was and I rode out there after work to take a look at it. Car is in fair condition no visible rust on rockers, door edges, or floorpans. Didn't open the trunk so I don't know about that. It's definitly been repaird in the drivers quarter panel with a substancial amount of filler. When I got home I found an ad for it on CL and he states in the ad that the engien was recently rebuilt and the starter is no longer fully engaging the flywheel. Also states he has all the trim.

Here's the ad - https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/6134621517.html

And the pictures I took.

I'm no BMW expert but the price seems kinda high for the shape it's in, but I'll deffer to you guys on this one. So, nice price, or crack pipe?

I remember these in the day as a teenager living in Germany on a NATO military base in the late 60's. Its the right car for the right guy. I'm just not that guy. But I hope it finds a good home and is lovingly restored by a BMW enthusiast. It looks a very salvageable project.

Prices have jumped a bit on these. I still think 7k is strong for it but not far off the mark if there's no rust in the sills, subframe mount, shock mounts. or footwell/splash panels. With some sketchy bondi work maybe more like under 5k. It's a roundly, but a 1602... people are asking 40k for pristine ones (not that they are selling for that yet).

In jr high my hot French teacher had one. Had a thing for these ever since. Have owned 3 of them.
