Just not my cup of tea.... but this is a SOLD car... just 2000 miles....

It's the low mileage. If it had typical mileage for a car that age (> 100,000 miles) it would have been a fraction of that amount.

I can believe it if it's in like new condition which id hope at 2k miles. I've seen more stupid sold for more money

Not a wise investor, that is for sure--figure that was $3500 in 1975? Probably worth about $200k if you had put it in the stock market. Back of napkin calculations so I could be way off.

I love old z's, but the 2+2 roofline makes me cringe.

Was this the one Wayne Carini pulled out of some guys garage on his show? Gotta love Auction season in Arizona

Pretty sure it is Wayne's car.

wow.

That 2+2 body style still looks awkward after all these years. Like the less attractive sister to the 2 seater. (IMHO)

I remember him saying he was going to put the original wheels and hubcaps back on it, had some 70's era wire basket wheels on it when he bought it. IIRC that car didn't need much more than a good detailing when he pulled it up in the trailer.

Totally agree. I could see a mint 1970 but I too hate the 2+2 - crack pipe.

280 2+2 will never be a desirable car in my world.

Low mileage seems to be a big part of the game this week. The BJ boys have sold a pair of Firebirds, one Bandit 301 turbo car with 15 miles for $100k, and a 79 10th anniversary TA with 7 miles for 170k or so.

And to make it look even worse, it has the base model 13 inch steelies with hub caps. Ewe...

That's the 280Z that was on Chasing Classic Cars recently. Original owner and all that jazz. Probably as close as one can get to a new 280Z, even if it's a 2+2. Would've been interesting to see how high it would have gone if it wasn't a 2+2.

If this were a mint '70 or '71 240, then yeah I can see it. To me, even the nicest 2+2 280 is only worth at most 10k.

Back when Z's were plentiful you couldn't hardly give a way a 2+2, and I can't see the desirability factor improving over the years.

Even the nicest restored two seaters I see for sale are in the 20's range, so figure a Barrett Jackson car would double that, but a 2+2?

The buyer must've owned one in his youth and was nostalgic. I'd eat my dirty sweat socks if he got anywhere near his buy price when he goes to sell.

2+2 are just akward looking...

Maybe my 2 seater is worth more now!
