It's not as crazy as it sounds. This is the release, introducing it to the public just in time for the auto show circuits in the end of the year and early 2015........ramp up interest and orders with delivery starting in early Spring/2015 apparently now as a 2016.

Not so much "rumor mill" as "Mazda announcement". I'll believe it.

I'm really looking forward to this one. And yes, the first time it'll be seen in public will be at the Laguna Seca event on Sept 5th.

BTW, the NC chassis lasted about the same amount of time as the original NA - less if you consider than the NB is really an NA that's been reworked. It's only the Miata nerds who have been frothing at the mouth who should consider this overdue.

I haven't read all the threads on this, has anyone ID'd the overly shiny powertrain in the photos they released earlier or is it something new?

I'm still waiting for the 2006 Mazdaspeed with the 2.3 DISI turbo that the internet decided was going to be introduced. Now that car is running a bit late

Is it just me or do those shock assemblies look really long? Might be that the upper arms are really low.

They're probably at full extension. No weight on them.

That would be quite a feat--especially in light of the Mustang speculation debacle.

I'm really excited to see the next Miata, if it gets good enough mileage I'm replacing the family hauler to have a more funner DD.

Me too. I am in line to replace the current Miata with the new one...................if it's good.

I'm more interested in the rumored Alfa Romeo Spyder based on the Miata chassis (or has that been debunked....?).

I personally want them to release a fastback version (aka Frisbee-fighter), since I have no interest in a vert and it's the main reason I haven't bought a Miata in the past.
