After a remarkable 7 years, the Panasonic battery finally crapped the bed. I really liked tha it lasted thos long, and would consider getting another. But a Panasonic 55D23L isnt easy to find. I don't need OMGWTFBBQ! race battery.  This is 100% street car. I dont want mega discount budget batt that drops cells in 6 months.

What's a top quality group 35 that isn't a finicky race battery? Also, any Black Friday deals on said battery?

Interstate, not from Costco.  I think Interstate sells factory seconds or shelf-aged units to Costco because our (Interstate supplied) capacitive tester always fails them.

AAA batteries are the next worst.

I have never replaced an Interstate battery under warranty, the one in my Volvo was ten years old when I replaced it when it didn't cotton to sitting undriven for a few months.

Excellent. I am literally within walking distance of an Interstate Store. Would you roll the dice on a blemish/return battery from Interstate? They are only $40

Ive replaced, no exaggeration, hundreds of interstate batteries well within the warranty period. If you go to your local shop or parts house, there is a 98 percent chance, no matter the brand, you are buying a Johnson Control or an Exide battery. Get something you can actually get warrantied were you drive regularly and has a long free replacement period.

You are correct in not buying your interstate batteries from Cosco. I dont know if they are defects but they can only be warrantied at cosco, every other interstate battery can be warrantied at any other interstate vendor.

I understand the evils of Walmart but I get car batteries there because any Walmart will warranty them.  No paperwork needed. The Walmart system keeps record of your purchase off the barcode on the battery.

As mentioned, they seem to be the same Johnson Controls batteries.
