I am having an intermittent stalling problem with my Miata. Sometimes it stalls while sitting at the light. Sometimes it just stalls while I am driving. It isn't running roughly otherwise. Apart from the stalling from time to time it runs rather well as usual. Could this be a Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor that needs cleaning or replacement? Some other issue?

I'd throw a fuel pressure gauge on it. If it actually goes dead while you're driving along, though, it's more likely to be a bad signal from the CAS (wires break near the connector, CAS goes funky) or a power/ground problem with the ECU.

It's not liable to be a MAF sensor problem, as Mazda didn't use those until 1994 on the Miata Pedantry aside, a dead spot in the air flow meter usually just makes the car hiccough.
