Having owned a Miata or two before, we know very well that the exhaust header runs directly opposite the transmission tunnel from the driver's feet. This generally isn't a big deal, but our yellow car is built to run in endurance races. That puts a premium on driver comfort.

I have this DEI material in the first 24" or so of my exhaust tunnel to kill the heat and noise of the headers I added. Couldn't be happier. Material has been there for 3.5 years, incl rain & snow, and it's still in excellent shape.

Shouldn't the heat shield go inside the tunnel, underneath the car?
