Finally pulled the Simpsons out of the box I bought used a few months ago, they aren't going to work for my application, so I'll be tossing them up for sale soon.

I'm tempted by the FIA-approved Schroth 4pt (since the car will still see occasional street/commuting duty)...........but the $300 each price point makes me shy away.

Any suggestions on affordable new harnesses?

If it is for Autocross use, you do not need a dated harness. You may be able to to find an "out of date" version cheaply.

PO put G-force harnesses in the Manic Miata, and I have no reason to complain about them, or to expect they were too expensive.

Check Jegs. They have good prices on G-force harness'.

No, HPDE's. THey don't care at my local track, but after buying some used and not thinking abou thow the shoulder harnesses attached, I'll probably just buy new and be done.

I want the lap/sub belts to have buckles to bolt down and the shoulder harnesses to be wrap around for the harness bar on the roll bar in the Miata.

Is there a special word/phrase/type of harness that will get me the wrap around shoulder harnesses vs buckle?

Basically everything I'm seeing is for the buckle?

Nevermind, having much better luck looking around on SafeRacer.

I got a pair of G-force camlocks for the 928. They were pretty cheap and work great.

^Good to know! It still seems as though everything I'm finding with "Wrap-around" style shouder harnesses are dramatically more expensive than buckles.

I wonder why that is?

I bought the Geforce 7001BK from Jegs. http://www.jegs.com/i/G-FORCE/471/7001BK/10002/-1?parentProductId=

$154 for a set of SFI 16.1 SCCA 7 year 6 point Camlocks is a good price. I ordered on a Friday and they where in my garage on Monday for $FREE shipping.

they are listed at bolt in and come with 6 bolt in buckles. I'm bolting in the Sub belts and the Lap and wraping the harness bar. The Buckles are removeable and could be replaced with any kind of attachment device that you wanted to use.

I'm very pleased with the materials quality of the adjusters and cam lock. I've owned some bargain type harnesses before and these are of a higher quality than I was honestly expecting for the price. Gefore has some propoganda about special nylon as well that degrades less quickly in UV. Still I will probably plan to make some seat covers that I will put on the car when it is sitting in the sun as I won't be able to easily remove the harnesses.

Excellent, thanks. On the Simpson's I picked up used, the bucklet is sewn in, no way to remove it...........hence my overcautiousness.
