I am interested in the Honda for sale in the classifieds and was wondering if anyone passing down can get it to Gainsville fot me.

Its a very small motorcycle, the handlebars can be folded and might even fit in the trunk of a car.

If anyone can help bring it down I will give them $100.

Thanks!

I will be passing through there. I will be in an Infiniti Q45 with two people and stuff.
It would have to fit in the trunk. Can that really be done?

I'd rather not have to tie the trunk closed. Any issues of fluid leaks?

I dunno if you have a hitch on that beast, but if you do, this seems like a good excuse to grab one of these ($70 at HF):

John, the motorcycle is very small. I had one as a kid and remember it fiting in the back of my mom's '78 Civic with the rear seat folded.

Here is the for sale ad:

I'll ask Apis if he is willing to drain the oil and gas.

I was riding it yesterday with my kids in my lap and tried to run it out of gas for winter. So, yes, I'll be happy to drain the fluids one way or the other. I think it will fit in a trunk. I can take the wheels off and it will probably fit in a large garbage bag. I can meet anywhere near I64 /I77 if someone is passing through.

JUST drove through there Sunday. And another local is going to the challenge so it COULD have been ready to go potentially.

No hitch.
Okay, now that I see what it is and more importantly that the seller is "one of us", I'll do it.

Can you please break it down as much as possible. That will give us the easiest loading capability.

Tentatively, I would expect to be in Chaleston between 1:00 and 3:00 Weds afternoon. Does that work?

If you can't be there in the middle of the day, give me an address and I'll go gather it up from your house if needed.

PM replied.

A quick and simple measure of the trunk is:
48" wide opening
30" fore/aft, floor
20" tall

I now have a backup plan for car failure!

Does that mean you're going to make the Q45 look like a dog, too?

I got it as small as I could without using fire and/or more aggressive disassembly. Peg to peg it is 19". It it now 22" high and 49" long. It is drained of fluids.

I presume these measurements are of the bike standing?
19" peg to peg (wide?)
22" high (standing tall?)
49" long

Trunk is:
48" wide opening (extra room on each side of the opening)
30" fore/aft, floor
20" tall

If we lay the bike on its side, seems it will fit. Is it such that it can be laid on its side a bit?

At this point, you can rotate it in any orientation that will work. It's swaddled in a drop cloth presently and sitting upright, so yes your presumption is correct. I removed the gas tank and put it in a ziplock bag. If you line the trunk with the drop cloth, I think your risk of getting motorcycle discharge on the carpet it low however it's positioned.

glad john is doing this because willrunifchased's wheels are going to take up my extra trailer space. otherwise bike would have been strapped to my truck bed cover.

Don't forget I have some Porsche 996 mufflers for free and some Vintage Toyota wheels for not free. May as well take that stuff down with you too and pick up the formula car on the way back north.
