We are shooting a film in Boston and picture cars is going to need a handful of 2003 or earlier vehicles that stunts can drive just as traffic on a 2-lane highway.  Nothing dangerous or risky.

it's not my department but I figured I'd reach out to see if Anyone could use the $$$. It would work on the night of 9/8.

if there are any takers, I'll dig into the price and will get it as high as I can for a grmer.

Hmm, finding <2003 vehicles that don't look like they're about to return to the earth might be difficult that far north!

On the one hand a 1993 Ford Escort GT fits the bill, on the other hand, challenge graphics on it would not.

That's SNL DD video is hilarious.  We had a guy at work that in the winter would smoke at a far out warehouse door like that.

Have him email me his contact info and a few pictures and info on the truck.

We are planning to have any vehicle procured this way inspected so let me know if there are any safety issues (brakes, structural rust, tires,...)

thisnis a little unusual but there aren't picture car warehouses out here like in la.  So maybe it will work out and make him some money.

He's out with friends tonight since he has tomorrow off. He graduated this year, he's 18 and working as a tech at the local ford dealer. Normally he has Sunday and Thursday's off, but I'm not sure about this week because of Labor Day.

I'll have him email you, but in the mean time the general info is it's a 1998 Ram 1500 that came up from Florida a year ago (so essentially zero rust).

It was treated with NHOU oil undercoating, so everything underneath is oily to touch, but the only real leak is the front main seal.

Everything is up to snuff for safety, it passed Mass safety inspection a couple months ago, and he replaced wheel bearings and a ball joint at that time.

As far as I know air conditioning and cruise control don't work right now, but otherwise everything else works.

Yessiree.  I make no guarantees as it's not my department but send me an email with your info and the vehicle info (including a description of its safety-ness) and I'll pass it along.   I will do what I can to get the most $$ for it for you!

When I see cars in period movies, they all look like they just rolled off the assembly line. I get it, everyone wants their baby to have a clean and polished on-screen appearance. No doubt requests by the director to throw dirt on them for a bit more realism goes unheeded.

When your production team is burning $8,000,000 per day, carrying a little insurance on a 20 year old car is a drop in the bucket.

Holy crap get this into the movie in the background. Would be a nice little advertisement for GRM.

For full 2003 realism, you need a couple of riced out Civics playing tag through traffic.

You'll need to log in to post.
