I'm still getting info, I was south of the tornados. I've accounted for most, but not all of my track friends in BG.
I've not seen pictures but from what I'm hearing NCM Motorsports park was "Leveled."
Still waiting for an official donation link for Red Cross - any GRM people effected?
**Edit
Here's the donation link, every dollar helps:

Here's a better video of the scale of the damage:

News outlets are reporting that "The GM Corvette Assembly Plant and the nearby Corvette Museum sustained light damage."
In reply to stuart in mn :
I know for a fact that the damage to the NCM Motorsports park is extensive. A garage I shared with some other was damaged, but according to Busby the track took a direct hit.
I've seen a video of the plant on fire, but it's not clear how bad the damage is.
The factory appears to have had lots of damage but the NCM itself is fairly ok. Praying for the rest of the folks in the area
In reply to johndej :
Sorry, by NCM I mean the race track. I've heard from all my friends that are on site that the track is "a total loss."
I really hope that's an exaggeration. A lot of people effected by this one. I woke up from a dead sleep at 3am - it was really spooky out.
They're expecting 100+ dead at this point.

Geez - with the problems with land subsidence of 2014 when the Corvette museum tried to take cover in a sinkhole and this disaster, one can only arrive at one conclusion!
Ford is God! (Or at least has some influence in that quarter)
Our garage is on site at the race track, it ripped the front and rear doors off of it.
Corvette museum is cursed
I'm in the next county over from Bowling Green but the worst of it missed me. I went over to check on some people and can confirm things are definitely not good. At least 1 student dead at WKU. Corvette assembly I'm hearing caught fire after taking a direct lighting strike.
In reply to Daylan C. :
Yeesh, waiting to hear when it's safe to come up and help cleanup. The response to this seems too slow in this day and age. Messaging some of my friends in the area and a lot of people in need right now.
First photo I've seen of the track.
In reply to accordionfolder :
Ooof!
In reply to Javelin (Forum Supporter) :
It's bad...

I saw this on the Corvette Blogger site:
We've got several friends about 25 miles east of Mayfield.
The neighborhood that we've been house hunting in, Cambridge Shores, took a direct hit as well.
We've heard that some acquaintance's homes are destroyed, others heavily damaged.
My best friend's house and property just north, by a mile or two, was spared.
Prayers for the thousands affected.
I have a friend who works at Corvette Assembly and lives nearby.
Haven't heard anything from her on FB, she would surely post for family and friends to check in. I'm concerned now.

Internet and cell towers may well be out.

Very true.
I had a hard time getting in touch with my friends this morning.
Between the damage done and volume of calls/data being transferred, coverage is spotty.

Edmonton had its back Friday tornado here in 1987 and my grandmother lived an hour and 20 minutes away in pigeon lake and she was very scrared as she could phone any of us in the city.
the tornado here among other things hit some of the refineries.
it lifted this empty oil tanker and dropped it on a rail line.
I live a block from the tornado path and was up that night watched it begin it's path through the city on local news live camera until power went out. Then began to worry as I heard it come through.
Cell service is still a little slow. The officials are blocking off affected areas and not letting people in unless you need to be there.
The Corvette plant is missing siding near the top of the building from what I could see from I-65.
Over 500 homes and 100 businesses severely damaged or destroyed. 100 power poles need to be replaced.
6 out of area power crews came today to help with the power restoration efforts.
I live in the Briarwood Estates area of Bowling Green.
From what I heard on the radio, through Indeed, they are organizing cleanup crews but no word on when they will begin. Too many down power lines for people to be trying to clean up debris.
Have some extended family near Princeton which took nearly a direct hit. They're all well and have shared some posts by the local paper "The Banner" which has remained quite active on Facebook regarding the storm.

Extended family in Bremen (Ky) is unhurt and thankful their losses are limited to roof damage and a destroyed garage. Their church is leveled, friends are dead. That town of less than 500 people had 11 dead and 22 missing last I heard. And that's just one town in the more than 200-mile-long path. Heartbreaking.
