Anything that directs air is a diffuser? I'm with you, the end piece at the back is "the" diffuser, but I guess these would be deflectors or something? I dunno, I'm no aerodynamicist, but Porsche thinks they work and they are cheap, so why not?
Had to look in on this thread - the words 'bargain parts" and Porsche are so rarely linked together!
Bought another set for our endurance race '62 plymouth valiant.
They look perfectly at home on my 1964 dart .. attaching them to the front sway bar was effortless.
We're using c5 vette brake ducks on our new civic endurance car,nicely flattened section for tire clearence.
Gutted the headlights and installing the inlets thru the lights.
I was a little disappointed. Apparently one side was sold out but the other side was still in stock. FCP Euro just sent me one air deflector...

Hmmm, their site says that both sides are available. Could the second be on the way?
