If you have a fwd small sedan with four wheel struts and a weight of around 2500 lbs, what sort of spring rates do you normally run? I'm going for a track biased setup.

That actually varies wildly between cars that would otherwise seem similar.
I'm running 650lb/500lb on the Celica F/R right now, and it probably weighs about 2300lbs in current state.
The Escort and MX6, they're street setups, so i don't think that's going to help you much.
Yep, it's all pretty standard macstrut fare.
Well... i never had the car on stock suspension, it went from GR2s and Sportline springs with 215/45-16 Hankook RS2s to the Megan setup that's on there right now with 245/45-16 Hankook RS2s, so it'll be a bit of a rough comparison.
Before, it had a slight tendency to oversteer on overcooked corners, which i liked, and it leaned a little, but it wasn't bad.
Now, in all honesty, it's a little hard to tell what the capability of the car is since i haven't had it to an event yet, and likely won't until next season. But the few times i've played with it on some tight backroads, it's fairly amazing. It's REALLY responsive (a lot of that has to do with the aligntment), has almost zero lean (of course, i coudln't really push it), and i can't comment on the oversteer since i had more grip than could be used.
In retrospect, i probably shouldn't have gone QUITE that high on the spring rates, i'm not actually compressing the rears at all it seems, and it feels a little strange. I get the impression that when pushing it hard, i may get the "hopping ass syndrome" or a rear end prone to sliding with no prior warning. But again, that's speculation. I'm hoping my research paid off and i'll end up with a nice progressive breakaway car with a loose ass end.
That's good to know. If you've got a McStrut that means your motion ratio should be close to mine. Should be a pretty good analogue. My Nubira is probably 200 lbs heavier and a little taller, but I also can't fit as much tire. I probably can't go past 225 on the front without cutting fenders, although there's tons of space in the back.
I did an articulation test today. Like this: (My neighbors love me!)
It confirmed what I already know. My car has a ton of roll stiffness in the front and a seriously squishy rear. The down side is I'm probably going to have to replace everything but the front swaybar, the upside being since it's all custom anyway I can spec anything I want.

Really?! Damn! Is your track pretty smooth?
With the proper shocks those spring rates aren't that bad. Not necessarily a fun way to drive to work every day, but even for a semi-rough track it isn't that bad for sprint races.
