It's even full! Near as I can tell, it's 68-69 (before that was Rambler, and in 1970 AMC came out with the corporate logo). It was at one of my repair shops and I've been bugging the owner about it and he gave it to me today.

Interesting. The address on the can (Detroit 32) would indicate to me it's from before when Zip codes came into effect, which was 1963, and after the formation of American Motors Corp, which was 1954.

Wow, really? That would be much older than I would have thought. All the AMC memorabilia I've seen is very Rambler heavy until 67 or so, but I also wasn't alive back then, so...

I'm still trying to dig something up.

For what it's worth, someone is selling a can just like it on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-50s-60s-American-Motors-Rear-Axle-Lube-Can-Twin-Grip-AMC-Rambler-Nash-AMX/141524697392

Here's a partial AMC parts catalog that lists the can, it says 1960 - 1965: http://worldpowersystems.com/AMC/Parts-Catalog-1960-1965/pdf/Gr9-1-22/3.pdf Interestingly, that's from a page with a ton of early AMC info: http://worldpowersystems.com/AMC/

The guys in the AMC club pointed out that the AMC parts and service started that logo in 58. So it looks like a 58-63 time frame for my can. Awesome!
