Dymags were also pretty cool...as seen on the Callaway Sledgehammer.

At one time in the early nineties I was madly in love with Enkei 84s. I still think that they would great on the right car.

Wow, somebody really hated detailers at Mugen. Makes my old BBS RSs look easy to clean... but I'm still buying a set for my current Miata.

These, Dragstars and Draglites look SO dated now, IMHO. I think they really cheapen the look of a car.

That said, it looks like Cragar SS's might be having a resurgence in terms of being stylish.

As much of huge SAAB fan as I am, I have to disagree. The SAAB 3 spoke rims were just OK, at best. The best 3 spoke factory rims were on Range Rovers.

That said, with monochrome and the right heartbeat graphics, you'll nail the mid 80s look to a T.

That Isuzu looks great. Everybody probably knows that Volkswagen rejected that Giugiaro Italdesign design for the Series II Scirocco for their own similar but not as nice design.

Those wheels look great on it.

I felt that way about them back then too.

My favorite 80's aftermarket wheels were the BBS mesh, hands down. Don't like the gold, they look best in silver or gunmetal.

My favorite OE wheel of the era:

Had them on my SE V6 4x4 extended cab. They just looked tough.

I used to love looking at the ads for Tire Rack and Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories in the 80's. I remember seeing the black and white shots of Rial, Ronal, BBS, Episolon, and Enkei wheels. I'm pretty sure that I saw all of them on early RX-7s back then. Before that, the only aftermarket wheels that I knew anything about were Cragars and Keystones.

Cheese wheels as seen on Turbo Dodges. These happen to be on a LeBaron, but I think they came on Omni's. I think my dad still has a set in the barn somewhere.
