Best toy category. You don't have to live with it daily but you do have to do long drives to do on-road and track day events. No trailer queens here.

Go.

No question, CRX.

CRX. Smaller, lighter and, IMO, better-styled. Never cared for the EG's styling. Plus it seems like cheap EGs are harder to find because those are the poster child of Honda tuning

I have had both, and they're both great cars. I thought that the EG was a bit more comfortable on the highway, although all of mine were fairly stiff.

EG6 for me. Preferably with the B18C5 swap complete. I'd rather be NA for that application than Turbo. I always found the CRX a little tight when I put my helmet on.

Looks like I picked a good VS this time.

I like the CRX styling a RCH better. I like the functionality of the EG which allows for friends or an extra set of tires to come along with the hatch closed. Both have the same engine swaps done on them.

An ex had the CRX so I have had plenty of seat time in them and know how much fun they can be. EG was in Initial D.

Both are boy racer dream cars, both can be made very very capable.

I can't decide.

Please continue.

Since long drives to remote tracks are involved I say EG6. They are a lot more civilized, plus the aforementioned ability to carry an extra set of tires, plus luggage, etc. It's going to be a lot more versatile with a minor weight penalty (probably obvious).

Disclaimer - I had a 93 Si for seven years and loved it terribly. I've also driven CRX's and thought they'd probably be a better weapon for a local track (or trailered), but they felt like a tin can in comparison.

I had an EG back when they were just called Civics. Good little car, I liked it. The second-gen CR-X doesn't do anything for me, so I'd go Civic in this case. But I'm keeping the first-gen.

EF civic or CRX, I have had 2 EG hatches, 3 EF's still think the EF Civic/CRX is the best cars that Honda made.

This is my vote as well. If I'm forced to choose CRX or EG6 I go EG6 for this intended use.

Consider the type of driver you are too. The crx has the shorter wheelbase which is more prone to lift oversteer. I've watch plenty of guys eat wall after a high speed lift. Especially in the rain. I loved my old Rex. But dang did she like dancing in the rain. EG does have a SLIGHTLY longer wheelbase. Mainly why they were used over the Rex for top speed runs. All suspension pieces on these fit from '88-2002. Honda never changed the mounting points I believe.

FWIW, my CRX easily carried a second set of tires plus everything needed for a weekend at the track.

If buying today, I think I'd go on condition.
