The exterior shape of the Lancia Hyena Zagato may look unfamiliar, but the car with which it shares its engine and drivetrain is probably more familiar: the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione.

That’s right, the Hyena is essentially a coupe version of the 200-horsepower, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive, Group A-dominating Lancia hatchback.

Said to be the brainchild of Andrea Zagato himself and a …

The Cramps wrong a song called Haul-ass Hyena in 1997, but there is no documented connection to this make of car that I've ever been able to uncover.

That is an ugly car.  24 might be too many.

It looks better to me today than it did when it was a new car on the show circuit. Stock Integrale is still my preference by far.

Certainly an unprepossessing image, isn't it?

I prefer my mental images of Lancias to be more like these:

It's definitely an interesting design but in fairness saga to during the 90s certainly put out distinctive and love it hate design which at the very least you can't say is a copy or bland.

zagato did the Alfa Romeo sz so this is in their 90s design language.

Colors with this car definitely plays a role in its looks in my opinion

Kinda looks like a car I once drew in my social studies notebook.

that A pillar/windshield treatment bothers me just as much on the Hyena as it does on the SZ. I always thought that was the big bummer of the SZ's design.

While this one is rwd, one gripe I had about the 90's Alfa's was the fwdness. Such a great looking car gets reduced to a rather uninspiring drivetrain.

That is one ugly butt...

I'm sure it's probably not as ugly in person, but that straight-back photo of the rear is... woof...
