Competitive at Autocross and Road Racing....really?
Really?
I think the appeal is to feel like a cop. With all that this entails.
To each their own.
Per (I like small cars)
I berkeleying love you... Thanks for bringing up a point that I've been trying to hammer home for months now.
Do you not read ignorant? All of us on GRM who have P71's also have small autocross cars (Rx-7, Miata, etc). You sure as hell aren't going to change our minds!

I don't. As previously mentioned, Roadmaster wagon, Roadmaster sedan, Volvo station wagon, GTO.
I consider the GTO a small car and I love it

I have some questions for you (sincerely) - Between your cop car and your RX-7:
- Which is more fun on the street?
- Which is more fun on an autocross course?
- Which is more competitive on an autocross course?
- Which is more fun on a road course?
- Which is more competitve on a road course?
- Which is styled better?
Here's a really cool big car, and it's only $3500 and sure to appreciate
(although I wouldn't want to autocross it!!!). I'm just sayin'.

Sorry no time to read... Been laid off and busier than ever volunteering and getting my house ready to sell..
and besides who gets their ideas and perceptions changed by arguing over the internet.. HA! noone. come on..
no off to pressure washing the house.. its 70 here today.
edit: I do think those cars are good beaters.... I mean they were used as taxis.. I have no real problem with them used as such anything else makes me thing fish out of water. Maybe I should go hoon one for fun..
bravenrace,
The Rx-7 on everything except competitive on a roadcourse. Except I can't fit 3 of my friends in the Rx-7. Or a car seat or two. I love old cars and I'd probably buy my dad's old 69 Ambassador 4-door with a 360/727 combo if it didn't have terminal rust. They just don't have A/C, modern disc brakes, or DD reliability. I had to get a newish, reliable car and for the money the P71 was it, plus it can be fun to race. If it's not your thing I understand, but for those of us that need the space, reliability, modern safety, and maybe even towing power it's a great all-around car. It's not the best at any one thing, but it's fairly good at everything and cheap to buy and maintain.
