HaHaHa... if my CRX gets that low it means I'm on track somewhere

It was an 09 Fit Sport Auto and only averaged 33mpg by way of measuring it the old school way with a piece of paper, pen, and a calculator. The onboard computer would tell me that I got 36-40mpgs but I didn't buy it, well I did because I was filling up my tank more often than I'd like. Oh well that car is sold and I drive something that gets 17mpg now as a DD. Still 7 more mpg than my trans am :)

It's a rotary, so yes, it did. They're *designed* to. That's how the seals get oiled.

Thank you.

I've had weird results with the fill-first click method. Some stations click sooner. If I get gas at the local mobile, and then go to the bp, it looks like I get awesome mileage. But the other way around, I get noso good mileage. I think bp's pumps shut down to soon.

depends on the pump. On those that are designed to suck the vapors out of the tank as it is filled.. if somebody overflows the tank and gets fuel into the vapor hose, even the slightest amount of pressure from the tank can cause it to click off.

For me it depends on the time of year around town about 19mpg in the winter and about 25mpg summer. Year round I get let's call it 29 highway. Let's hear it for giant non-functional scoops and AWD.

OK I know you spinning triagle guys will think this is sacrilige but... if the RX8 had the Mazdaspeed 3 motor it would be epic. They would have sold 5 times as many cars because it would have been an instant poster boy for drifters, draggers and road racers. I understand the light balance thing, but I cannot justify driving a car that is going to get 14mpg around town.

if they were going to put that engine in an actual sports car, it would be nice if it made power above 5000rpm.

as it is i'm perfectly happy that it's not a poster boy for drifters. and i'm happy to have a car that is interesting enough to inspire strong feelings, good or bad.

My Yaris usually hovers in the 38-40 mpg range on a daily basis. Worst has been around 35 mpg and best was 43 mpg on a trip to upstate New York cruising at 70-75 the entire time.

Rotards are easily baited.
