All the taurii (sp) my department are buying are reserved for field Captains and other bosses...so they should be in good shape in a few years...

Oh man. That's going to be a treasure trove. I know the interceptor has more in common with the performance package model. When that happens I'll be looking for the power transfer unit (PTU) cooler, rear diff cooler, and the oil cooler if I have a SHO then.

The interceptor also has a wicked skid plate. Supposedly one of the criteria for being a police car was the ability to run over 8 inch curbs without damage. This necessitated the skid plate to protect the sump and exhaust.

AFAIK, yes.

But that starts a very deep process.

DI really complicates things.

More research reveals that Livernois claims some high 12 sec SHO's that they've tuned.

Video of 12 sec Taurii.

Well.. hmm..

being curious, I tried to go to their website. google search links to a place that is no longer a website. hmm...

I would like to read with they claim.

One thing- the cars in the video have very reduced exhaust and intake- you would not normally hear the turbos, especially what you hear there.

I've heard of some that should be able to go 11's, but keep breaking the awd.

I found a TSB Ford published pertaining to the effects of "engine tampering" to the Ford Taurus SHO. I started a new thread on it as I thought it would be interesting to all folks monkeying around with modern turbo motors.

Here's the link to the new thread.
