i used to have a list of the GM part numbers for the Toyota badges for that car.. they also had some parts that Cavalier guys will almost kill over- like power fold away rear view mirrors, bulged out fenders, and a windshield with the radio antenna built into it.

Had '86 Cavalier, other than pickup coil and exhaust manifold only routine stuff. Got buzzy over 60. Sold it at 186K. Used to go through cars like popcorn. No real complaints on the Cav for just a work car.

yes they are E36 M3ty cars but just because someone likes a E36 M3ty car doesn't mean that person is a dumbass..

VERY true.

they are no different than any other appliance car- the bad ones are all dead by now and all that's left are the good ones.

i had a 2 door '97 that i bought for $400 with a blown head gasket and a crankcase full of that stupid red coolant GM uses.. it came with the head gasket and new head bolts, so all i had to do was swap it in and it ran like a champ and got 36mpg. a few months later, the 5 speed trans blew a differential bearing after a mere 180,000 miles... swapped in a $300 junkyard trans and drove it for 2.5 years before selling it to my 18 year old cousin last summer for $500. it had 230,000 on it and i had tweaked it to just under 40mpg with mostly invisible and dirt cheap aero mods.. she still drives it almost a year later, despite the best efforts of her clueless boyfriend to try and kill it via sheer stupidity. she wants to sell it now that she's got a baby coming, and i'm seriously thinking about buying it back.

Even though I know it's real, my hindbrain is screaming that some numb-tard just stuck the badge on and therefore deserves a kick in the junk. So confusing, so wrong...

I saw one of these in the flesh in Nassau. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Also because there was a Chevy Cavalier parked just up the road from it. They've got an interesting hodge podge of cars in the Bahamas...

Don't be silly, J body fans never recover from stupidity.
We all start somewhere........ What was your first car? Im sure it was just the most bad ass car ever..

A 77 Dodge pickup I pulled out of a junkyard. It was so badass that the seats fell through the floors one morning.
