Hey Guys!
Anyone near the ID-UT border?
HungaryBill's Toyota truck is stranded on 84, near Malta, ID. It is carrying precious cargo, a 3.0l Alfa V6.
The truck was on it's way to Corpus Christi with it's new owner and alternator died Saturday night. The new owner had to hitchhike to SLC and fly home.
Is anyone near the area that can get it off the road so it isn't impounded? New owner is in Denver and can drive out sometime soon over a weekend, but had to get back to work.
Hopefully, magically, someone can get it off the road for a week or two to save the impound fees and/or keep someone form turning in that beautiful Italian engine in the bed from getting turned into scrap.
It is roughly 150 miles north of SLC, it'll probably get tagged warning of a tow today and then towed a couple of days after that.
Recon1340 is still pretty damn far away from it, maybe we get lucky and someone closer sees this thread.
It looks like that's about 75 miles from where I work, 100 mles from home. I have a truck and trailer and could store the truck for a little while in Brigham City, UT.
I would not be able to make it out there until tomorrow evening. Would that be too late?

I don't think tomorrow would be too late at all.
It is about 3 miles south of Fridals MTN View Truck Stop.
I'll plan on picking it up tomorrow after work. Shoot me a text so we can arrange the details

Make sure you send some kind of proof of ownership! A hard-ass cop will arrest you for picking up a car that doesn't belong to you because, you know, you might be stealing it.

2002Maniac, do you need help if you make it out? Work on Tuesday in Boise til 6. Can make it there late Tuesday night. I have a flashlight, tools and beer. Know how to work the beer, not so sure about the other stuff.
I'm actually going to go in the morning. I've got the trailer hooked up and tools/recovery gear in the truck ready to go. I'll keep this thread updated.
