Fellow GRMers, what did you do in 2015?
Now that we're a couple weeks into 2016, I've been thinking about everything I did last year, and thought "why don't we have a thread for this?" So, this is a thread for everyone to list their motorsports shenanigans from last year.
Here's my 2015:
Bought a Saab 9-3
Bought a TTR125 and raced MiniGP with it
Had a Saab 9-3 totaled
Raced RallyMoto at Sandblast
Bought an '84 Toyota Pickup
Sold an '85 Celica GT-S
Sold a TJ Wrangler
Bought a 318ti
Got 3rd in a MiniGP enduro
Bought a '77 Maverick, drove it across the country with no registration, and sold it
Bought a basketcase KTM
Put 12000 miles on my Buell
Volunteered at Empire State Performance Rally
Raced RallyMoto at Black River Stages
Drove an original Mini for the first time
Rented a Mustang Ecoboost, a V6 Mustang, a Ram 1500, an Altima, a Sentra, a Frontier, and a Camaro SS
Unsuccessfully tried to buy 3 different rally cars
Bought and fixed an '86 RX7 rally car that hadn't run in 10 years
Restomodded a friend's XR250R to better than new condition
Helped a different friend purchase a manual swapped Roadmaster
I think that's it- what did you guys do?
Your 2015 sounds much more exciting than mine.
Bought Opel Manta
Replaced blown engine in rallycross Miata
Bought Subaru 2.5rs, rallycrossed all year while ignoring the Miata
Bought Honda Grom
Took Subaru to rallycross nationals, placed 5th in SA
Drug 82 Mercedes wagon out of a garage where it sat for 8 years, it is currently sitting
Sold Opel Manta
Bought MK1 GTI then traded for a 97 Miata
Nothing at all car wise.
Grm wise, I read the Amy thread, that was pretty epic.
I thought the Amy thread was lost? Where is it?
Got my Corvair running and idling on its own. Also did a bunch of minor crap to it.
Sold my 2nd G20
Bought my first New car
Bought my first Turbo car
Bought my first 6spd car (same car, but more lines seems more exciting)
Drove my first Corvette
Hopefully 2016 will see me spectate (possibly participate in?)my first land-speed racing, see my first attempt at turbo tuning, see me purchase my first non-daily (i.e. project or fun) car, and purchase my first welder
i competed in the $2015 challenge. nothing else i did besides building the car in 3 months compares to finally getting to gainesville
Mine was also pretty tame.
Got to do a brief wet
autocross in a frzb
Bought my first truck
Tore down my first engine
New personal record # of tows in a month
Didn't die in a car accident (always count that as a positive, any moving accident and I'll be saying sayonara)
My 2015 was pretty good.
-Started writing for Bangshift (!!!) after many years of trying to break into the business.
-Autocrossed for the very first time and loved it!
-Attended two Lemons events, they are as insane as you read about!
-Didn't have time to wrench all year because of soul-sucking job
-Ditched soul-sucking job for way better job with more pay and closer commute
So basically, I didn't have a ton of time to do anything to my own cars, but I still stayed busy surrounding myself in car-related activities. I'm hoping 2016 will bring more growth and more time to wrench on my garbage!
Hmmm, well 2015 included:
Got freshly rebuilt Passat back from dealership.
Put in a successful season of autocross and did well.
Did two HPDEs in the Miata and can see myself doing a lot more of them!
Joined a Chumpcar team and started a modest build.
Acquired my late fathers' Ranger and am "restoring" it slowly.
Bought a silly "shifter-kart" frame to stuff a 1 liter bike motor in.

Bought and sold a 1984 Mercury Marquis.
Sold the everlong '81 Chevy 4X4 project, an old bike project, 12 small engines I been hoarding, engine hoist, old compressor tank, miscellaneous other stuff... but it's gone outta my shop now. Progress at last!
Bought the '09 E92
Inherited an XJ that runs on 4 cylinders
Went to sell the S197 and Bridgeport but didn't have the heart to.
Never made it to a track despite best intentions.
Was gonna start a similar thread last week about about all things in your life/ 2015 year in review but didn't. Maybe somebody oughta do that.
Here's what I did:
Sold 99 Bonneville, picked up 92 Dakota
Sold 79 Dually, bought 03 Suburban 2500
For the first time in 4 seasons of running the Camaro, I have a new set of race tires on it (Goodyears). I have been running used Hoosier take offs the whole time.
75 MGB received a proper dual SU carb setup. Still a garage ornament, but hopefully that changes this year.
Bought 95 dakota, traded it for an 84 f150 that i fixed and sold for a small profit. Used profit to buy 89 f250 that i traded for an escort zx2 and some cash. Traded escort for parts wagon that i still havnt torn apart. Traded s10 for 81 chevy, traded the chevy for honda and cash. Repaired honda and traded it for rusty 84 blazer and cash to finally almost break even.
Finally put a headliner and 8.8 in my 78, proceded to kill a bunch of cheap tires with general hooning.
Did a bunch of crap to old beater cars to keep my friends on the road. Sadly didnt make it too the dragstrip at all this year.
2016 goal is to buy a truck i actually want to keep for a daily and finish the interior in my wagon.

It is gone. Being that I have no car things to do I have the opportunity to read almost every thread as it develops. Which basically means I have no life but sometimes magic happens, like the Amy thread, and it's all good.
2015 was a year of purging and reallocating in anticipation of the move.
Sold: 2002 Beetle, 2007 Accent, 1996 Corolla, 1998 Express 3500 van, and 16' open trailer.
Bought: 2014 Town & Country, and 2005 Interstate 5'x8' enclosed trailer.

It was a year of getting back into everything - more serious autocross, more time and motivation to build stuff, have a rallyx vehicle again, etc. Not sure if it will be sustainable into next year but who knows.
- Rallycrossed the Impreza for the first time, parts fell off.
- Bought QuickJack lift, great decision.
- Put the 'current hotness' tires on the STS car for the first time and started kicking all kinds of ass with it.
- Ongoing cleanout of late Dad's garage, sold the '93 Thunderbird 10-second drag car :(
- Hauled my tires out to Wilmington OH and ran the summer ProSolo in my brother's STS car, won a trophy.
- Did NOT sell Impreza to buy neighbor's antique tractor.
- Won top PAX in NEPA region for the first time.
- New personal best of 2nd in PAX in Philly region.
- Won STS for the season in both regions.
- codrove a Z06 corvette, 2.5RS, 94 Miata, MR-Spyder.
- Hauled my old built-in-high-school Maverick up to PA.
- Nearly bought Nonack's Maverick for a drivetrain swap.
- After looking at it for 2 weeks and remembering how much help it was going to need and how little time I had, sold my Maverick.
- Finished 4th for the overall Driver-Of-The-Year for Philly autocross.
- Bought rusty $1200 Miata.
- Replaced my first clutch I/we ever killed, in my wife's Vibe with help from friends.
- Cleaned up the garage enough to get two cars in it for the first time since we bought the place 6 years ago.
- As my kid ages and bedtime schedules improve, wife is less stressed, etc, finally able to work on cars for fun again.
- Started reading this forum regularly again.
- Start rallycrossing rusty Miata.
- Stupid plan to take rusty Miata hillclimbing when winter rallyx season is over.
-Bought a 96 Cherokee
-Upgraded to 2 car fleet for first time ever
-Bought first car that needed to be towed home (all of the above in one fell swoop)
-Bought my first welder ($99 HF special, woot woot!)
-Ran nearly all auto x events in my local region
-Won CAM-C season championship in local region (not actually that impressive, basically a 2 car class most of the year and we're both relative newbies)
-Didn't ride my motorcycle nearly enough
-Did a bunch of work on the Jeep and Camaro
-Got a dog
-Edit: Attended first NASCAR race
Goals for 2016:
-Run ALL events in my local region
-Run at least a couple events out of region
-Run the Camaro at the drag strip
-Do at least 1 HPDE
-Ride the bike more

Frequently made plans that fizzled and never came to fruition.
Was our chapter's event chair for our HPDE this year
Got to run 3 days HPDE at Raceway Park of the Midlands (the event I chaired)
Did back to back HPDE weekends at Grattan Raceway and Road America
Took my durango 4 wheeling at Charlie's creek and up bell mountain, this required some modifications ...
Got married
Worked a track event at road Atlanta
Fixed my track cars broken exhaust system
Drove a track event at road Atlanta
Bought a miata chassis for the 2016 challenge car and started modifying it to accept a motor and body swap
Learned that the challenge changed dates and managed to keep working on said challenge car even though it is now a 2017 entry

My list will be short.
I installed power leather seats from a Saab 9-3 into my Mini.
I built a center console for my Mini to have cupholders, phone charging capability and a place for front speakers.
I installed 4 speakers and an amp in the Mini so I have music in their via bluetooth from my phone.
I installed a fancy new electronic distributor in the Mini.
I made a new alternator bracket for the Mini.
I installed a smart idiot light to monitor my charging system in the Mini.
I made a water shield to keep water off my distributor and plugs wires since they are directly behind the grill.
I drove the Mini to the Smokey Mountains and back in the rain.
Drove the Dragon and the Rattler and other fun roads. (covered about 1200 miles in a few days).
I replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, accessory drive belts and other usual stuff on the mazdaspeed miata.

-started getting my daughter into car things; auto x, drag strip and cars and coffee events
-bought a domain and started a website (didn't make it much past that, sadly)
-stopped eating meat
