All I did was tighten my alternator belt, but my upcoming oil change should liven things up.

The barn is used for cold storage and thats where my '91, a friend's 95, the bmw, XJ, and my F350 are..... I think I need to get rid of my '95 to make some room.

Your garage doors are weird up north.

My hand was nearly eaten by one of those when I hung a roll-up door in a "van" type trailer several years back.

You probably already know but, have you ever wondered why there are lines spray painted on the operator spring? An old trick used by trailer mechanics is to spray a solid line on the spring when it has no tension then wind it until you have one line for each door panel. That should get you pretty close to the right amount of tension.

Oh, I replaced a rear toe link on a friend's 2001 Grand Prix today.

Grunt, fart, butt scratch.

I did nothing.

Tomorrow, however, I'm going to get the RX-8 and Golf projects rolling along again.

On Sunday, I am driving 90 miles to get a Cobb Access port and STI steering rack for the Forester.

Luckily ? My doors have tension springs. Much easier to replace or adjust.

Not really 'in the garage', but late Thursday night discovered there was a clog in the sewer line behind casa del Curmudgeon. Being the cheapskate I am, I dropped all the toilet lids, drilled a 3/8" hole in the cleanout cap, then stuck my blowgun in the hole, covered my face and shot 135 PSI air in for about 3 seconds. Clog gone.

I was expecting somthing long the lines that all my toilets then exploded or somthing like that.

Yesterday, I thought about buying some oil and a filter because it is time to change the oil in WRX. Maybe next weekend I'll do it. I haven't done any actual work in the garage since before Thanksgiving other than swapping the battery tender back and forth between the Mini and the Miata each week.

Put a new carseat in the back of the WRX. Subaru doesn't recommend putting it in the middle, so big the fiancee has to have seat all the way forward. Realized stroller has a hard time fitting in there as well.

This hot hatch is not so family friendly as we thought it would be :(. I de-modded it and seeing if I can get a wicked deal on a Pilot or Si Sedan (i know for sure the sedan has more room for the baby seat than the WRX) tomorrow for President's day. Took out the mudflaps, rigid industries duallys, the xm radio, and put stock exhaust back on. Putting family in front of fun and will save up for a GRM style daily/project.

It was so uncomfortable for the fiancee on the way home up front from the hospital we pulled over so she could sit in the back with her :(.

This Subaru was full of love but not comfort :(.

I need a garage. Hauling parts, tools, and so on up and down four stories of stairs and working on a car in a apartment complex lot is not my idear of fun.

I wired up some old boston acoustic 4x6 speakers to the stereo in the garage (which is an old, cheap surround sound). Big improvement! Then I consumed an adult beverage while listening to my great work.

Installed a new front main seal in my Mustang. I took the easy route and didn't pull the front cover, then found I had nothing to actually install a new seal with, but after drilling a hole through a short piece of 2x4 I was able to tap it in without too much trouble. New Dorman balancer installed, set base ignition timing (it was somewhere close to zero degrees BTDC and had been backfiring & farting when cold in colder weather) and took the car out. Huzzah, the car runs much better afterward, and the motor's vibration has been reduced massively. Good day in the garage.

Worked on installing all new brake lines in the Baja bug...needed more parts, so not finished yet.

Finished installing massive trans cooler in the 89 suburban and popped in a 180degree thermastat while I was at it. Also ripped old sagging headliner out. The cardboard and fabric are in good shape, so where do I find the foam I need to repair it?

Bought a 72 Chevy wrecker a couple of weeks ago. winch would spool out but not in...found a stripped pto lever, so got it ordered and should be in this week. Also yanked the lightbar off the wrecker to figure out what's wrong with it. Still need to go through the rear brakes and install gas tank. I was suprised to find front disk brakes on this truck.

Bought used tailight housings for my 95 ram 3500 and painted them. These will replace the bling bling altezza style that were on it when I bought it.

Looked at the fresh rebuilt Buick 231 that's going in the Sprite, but that's about it. Need to pick up a new clutch disk and pressure plate before I install.

Cleaned up carnage from shop cats latest kill. Man that cat is one hell of a mouse getter.

Botched an oil change trying to help a coworker. (confessions thread)

Oxycleaned and went to install a jy replacement seatbelt on the LS400 because of fraying and not retracting. Turns out the 90-92 are different than the 93-94. Bummer.

Washed my car.

Pieced together a roof rack system from craigslist; $25 complete set of Yakima q clips, new. Guy turned out to be the manager of Americans Tire who sold me my last set of tires. Recognized my car and remembered what tires he sold me.

$20 BVG/Inno snowboard/ski holder, missing keys, brand new.

$80 used Yakima rack with crossbars, q towers, clips (claimed it was for a camry but the fronts and backs are different and research shows them to go for a chrysler and audi?) locks and key and they threw in Mako kayak/little boat saddles and hardware when I got there. Will have to cut down the crossbars but no big. /brag

A rare car-free weekend for me, but still fun--spent five days in NYC seeing live music.

Each night I rolled in around 4:00 am. I'd get some sleep, see some friends and family, grab a nap, and then repeat. You know it's a good day when you're eating "breakfast" around 3:00 in the afternoon. Likewise, my last night there I had dinner around 3:30 am. Good stuff.
