I say 1500lbs. Did you sell the parts you removed? You could probably recover all your $1500 doing so. Especially if you depower the rack, as the electric power steering pump sells for ~$300.

Cool project. I love the look of the rear of these with the body panels removed.

I have sold off a lot of parts and recouped a significant amount of the purchase price.  I have not added it all up though.  The steering feels pretty great as-is, not sure I want to depower the rack.  All of the power steering bits are up front, where I'd like to try and maintain a little bit of mass.  I did move the battery up to the frunk to help the weight distribution.

You can try before you buy by turning ignition off at speed then back on and bump starting, the power steering will not come back on till the next key cycle. Depowered feels like 15-20% easier version of that because it dpesnt have to pish through the pump. Totally reversible way of depowering is to delete the pump, purge some but not all of the fluid and loop tge lines. Feels so much more connected and organic. Try it.

Also boost that 1zz, these are so berking good with some power.

The 1zz/stock trans is significantly lighter than the 2zz/ c60/ lsd setup, like maybe 60lbs? Maybe more. My 1zz car (c60 swapped with trd lsd) weighs 25 lbs more in daily street trim with oem seats and carpets than my colin chapman, deathtrap car with the 2zz. The 2zz car has more chassis reinforcements (trd braces and roll bar but no windows and windshield, no top, etc.). Hope the power and revs are worth it.

I like it. I occasionally get to a FAST event, hope to see you.

I'm guessing 1680.

Looks like fanfoy was the closest with his guess of 1625. Measured weight without me in it was 1620. This was with 1/4 tank of fuel, so right about 1600 with an empty tank. A local miata specialist who builds a lot of Exocets told me those usually come in around 1550 lbs, so that was my target, but I was expecting to be heavier.

im very pleased with a $1500 (less after recoup), 1620 lb, mid engined kart!
