Cleaning the MAF makes a big difference in the way that many cars run. All that crap building up over time is hardly noticed but cleaning it off you'll notice right away.
I witnessed a 30% increase in power on a dyno once, just by cleaning a MAF sensor.
Car never did run rough, was just inexplicably down on power.
