Browsing ebay for cool station wagons. Because who doesn't do that when they're bored?

Super Clean Roadmaster Wagon

This might be the nicest one in the country but is a car like this really worth $10k now? Have they reached collectable status?

Anyway, I'd totally drive it. Like if I had the money I'd be flying out to drive it home tonight

Yes, they have reached collectible status.

However, that car is in an undesirable color, although the interior is stunning and it's well equipped. I still think $10.5k is a bit of a crackpipe price. I think $8.5 would be more in the ballpark.

For a Buick, that is a perfectly acceptable color, kind of like the brand uniform if you ask me.

I like the color too With those wheels and tires it's like the Buick-est of all Buick wagons.

So... Anyone know how much an individual could expect to pay for a rougher but solid running example? You know, out of pure innocent curiosity?

Since esoteric_nixon bought his, I'm seeing these things everywhere.
How much can these tow?

I'm wondering if all 40 people watching the ebay ad are GRM members.

I think 5000lbs with the tow package is the rating.

I think $5k is crackpipe. So many better things for the money.

You could have an amazing Volvo for less than 1/2 of that.

Sayyy what???? Surely you are joking since my neighbor down the street finally sold his for $1000 last weekend. Nobody bought it when he was originally asking for $2k. It was in great condition but ugly green with fake wood panels. 81,709 miles. Always made me think of National Lampoons Vacation when I saw it.

No, it's not weird.

Wagons are cool. My wife doesn't understand my fascination with them. That thing, with some blackout tint, lowered a little on some Boyd's wheels or something would be the shiznit.

Price though, I confess, I have no idea what wagons go for these days. And no, a volvo wagon is not as cool as that one.

That's rediculous. I love that car but I'd be embarrassed enough to not tell anyone what I paid if I paid over $2,000.

I just bought a 2005 Denali XL for $3,000 and have people saying "$3,000? That's not too bad I guess."

There was an equally clean example for sale here on craigslist not too long ago, it was even in a better color. I believe the guy was asking $3750. I could see 6k tops for one.

I don't have anything against Volvo's, in fact I really like them but car for car I would rather have the Buick.

I think the words "California car" in the rusty north seem to tack $3k onto the price of anything '90s

Volvos are cool but don't quite have the presence of an American boat. I like the station wagons 'cause they can haul guitars and drum sets and stuff.

From wikipedia:

"Ordered with the towing package, the 94-96 Roadmaster was advertised to tow up to 5000 pounds, although the Estate Wagon owner's manual extended that to 7,000 lbs when using a weight distributing hitch, dual sway controls, increasing the rear tire pressure to 35 psi and disabling the Electronic Level Control."
