It's probably an April Fools joke, but it shouldn't be . . .

Toyota announces a Yaris based mini-pickup.  Sadly, like Toyota itself, it's probably a joke.

Stretch the bed a bit and it is not too bad. Not unlike car based offerings in places like Mexico.

I'd trade my 2 in on that.

I rented a Yaris once. I got as far as the next airport and I swapped it for something better, which was everything they had.

Don't know if it changes anything, but IIRC, the current vintage Yaris is actually a Mazda 2 with a Toyota badge.

I now know why I might buy a first gen honda fit again

Funny thing is that Yaris(es?)('?)(ii?) Whatever the plural of Yaris is, is one of my favorite rentals.  I thought they were entertaining cars to sling around.

That is more exciting than any car in the current Toyota lineup. April Fools failure on Toyota's part in my book.

I'd absolutely buy a Toyota badged Mazda2 pickup.
