Should be fine, just be cautious when buying modified SBCs, or anything with an old american V8 for that matter, because every 350 is a "built race motor" these days. Even if it's a cheap rering kit and a poorly selected cam in a late 70s smog longblock barely making 250hp.

I'm so happy to hear that I am not the only person who is a fan of the 403.

I really liked my 403 engine until the oil pump drive shaft broke and it cooked the internals.

Starting to look like I'll have to do a fly and drive or trailer a malibu to me. Nothing in my immediate area. I think I might just hang tight though and keep waiting for something to pop up within the 3 hour radius. Don't like buying a car sight unseen.

I'll give a high five on the Yellow with Black rally wheels. That's a great combo. Clean car.

Grand National 3.8 V6 turbo FTW.

After reading a ton about G Bodies, it sort of killed the Grand National allure.

THIS ONE Would be tempting even as a parts donor for that price. Rally gauges, console, buckets, chrome rally wheels, etc. Likely a V8 car too.

Yep. That was my fav, too. How does the t-top affect the handling?

Well, G-Bodies are body on frame, so it's not like they are all that tight to begin with. Having owned one (a hardtop) and ridden in a few T-top models, the handling between the two isn't much different, but the t-tops all start to leak with age as the body flexes on it mounts a bit and the seals and weatherstrips compress and wear. Biggest difference is the number of creaks and rattles in older t-top cars as opposed to the tin tops.

Sigh, all of this G-body talk makes me regret that I sold mine a few years ago. I posted pics and specs on here before--ZZ3 crate engine, awesome exhaust, everything had an overkill cooler, M21 muncie, half the Coleman circle track catalog in the brakes, and suspension and on and on... .

Also liked to battle with effeminate turbo/awd cars while picking up chicks that bring me tasty beverages... .

Maybe the ridiculous prices of GNs? Or the fact that many of the other G bodies compared favorably with the GN, especially with a little bit of aftermarket.

Nothing compares to a nice GN. Nothing.

It's priced higher than normal g body's because they are special. I would pay a premium for a clean GN than any other g body. They are worth the extra IMO.
