I have been tracking my mpg the old-fashioned way but figured it was time to take advantage of modern technology. Anyone have an iPhone mpg app that you like?

My dream app has the ability to:

  • track more than one car.

  • change the date for each entry so I can manually add in past data.

  • work from either a trip odo or actual odo.

Free is good, but I don't mind paying a buck or two for a killer app.

So, any suggestions?

I use the paid for "Road Trip" and am happy to recommend it The free version will only track one car so it's useless for the average GRMer, but it'll give you a good idea what the app is capable off.

The only item on your list that it doesn't cover is the "work from either odo or trip odo", it wants the regular odo reading.

It also does a few more things, you can track repair expenditure etc as well.

I tried a few apps, but using Fuelly is just easier. They have a mobile interface, and you can bookmark it (or whatever its called), so it looks like an App on your home screen. It does everything you have asked for.

It does, and I know how to use it. I figure there's something that's a little more user-friendly.

I use "fuel log" which is an Android app.

It has multiple vehicles, allows post edit and uses the odometer. For free.

If you buy the pay version it allows you to export to Excel files and type notes on each entry.

Has a bunch of neat cost calculators and graphs. Perhaps worth the switch to Android?

I use Fuelly and just save the mobile site as a bookmark on my phone.

I'll recommend this, that way you're not tied to one platform at least.

What I do is generally log my stuff in notes on my phone then punch it into Fuelly.

Beat this!

This is basically what I do, I just added the link to the iphone homescreen so that it has its own app-like icon. Still opens through Safari.

I used Road Trip on my iPod Touch before switching to aCar after I got an Android phone.

Liked Road Trip, and the developer promptly solved a couple problems I had. So I was overall happy with the experience. Only switched because the Android was more convenient.
