Mine was my local dealers first (and only) allocation...they were allowed one. I'm doing a GR86. I recently bought a Highlander Hybrid for my wife, so I think that helped to snag this one.

I know that you guys are waiting for BRZ, but I will check and see what the story is with Toyota through my dealer.
I've been seeing a combinations of some people saying they can't place an order to some getting through online. You may be able to call around and reserve one at another dealer if they have an unclaimed allocation. May try a high-volume dealer since they probably get more allocations.

I pinged my guy this morning and we will see what he has to say. It's Subaru of Omaha.
For now, it looks like I have the one GR86 allocated to my local dealer. It seems that each dealer gets a max of 1, and some in the region didn't get that.
My guy is not sure what is coming behind this one.
I'm getting the first one into Nebraska. I'm wondering how many are allocated. I've got vin 22xx and I've seen up to the 2600s. It seems like there are not going to be a lot built.
From what I've read in Frisbie forums/FB groups, it looks like Toyota dealers aren't willing or able to order one for you, you've got to buy what shows up on the lot (and apparently those are 80% slushboxed), whereas Subaru dealers will special order one for you.
I must have gotten lucky. Mine is the dealer's (Toyota) allocation, but when they made their allocation request, they got with me to spec it out, so I got the color and options (premium, manual and some gizmo deletes) I wanted.

On the one hand, this is the sound of success. I hope that this gets the attention of the industry.
Yeah. It's definitely success. I'll be interested to see overall how many where ordered. Mine is here finally. Just pulled onto the lot and I'll take delivery after work. As predicted when I ordered, We are scheduled to have the biggest snow storm of the year tomorrow. Looking at a half a foot.
Here's more info. Nice to see such demand for the 2nd gen.
Sold orders for 22MY BRZ are closing Thursday January 13, 2022 at 5:00 PM EST.
The launch of the 2022 MY BRZ has been a driving success, selling 1,579 vehicles through the 1st three months of sales ending in December 2021, and setting a new all-time monthly sales record in December with over a thousand BRZ’s sold!
Adding to this success was an exceptionally high number of sold orders, indicating demand is consuming our expected supply well into the future. Sold orders have reached the point where they have nearly consumed our expected supply for the ’22 model year. To increase the odds that we can deliver on the orders already promised, and to reduce the odds that we do not have to cancel any orders already created, we must close Sold Orders for the ‘22MY BRZ.
As you know we are continuously working with our colleagues at SBR to procure more inventory for the US market. If we are able to increase BRZ production in the future, we will work to re-open the sold order system at that time.
Well, It passed the head room test with ease and I took delivery about an hour ago.
First impressions are I am totally glad I got it. Can't wait to break the motor in and really see what she will do.

You beat me! That is gorgeous....I can't wait to hear more. Uber congratulations!
Thanks. I put 150 miles on it today. Totally enjoyed the heck out of it. It's exactly what I wanted. Did the first mod and mounted the winter tires so I can do the break in.

Those wheels look great on there. Thumbs all up.
Beautiful!
I got caught up in the no new orders thing. Fortunately I was able to secure a customers canceled limited. It is slated for a may delivery. I would have preferred a premium in white but I will take what I can get. Lots of folks were not so lucky.
Not mine obviously as it has not been built yet but identical...
Last week I turned 60...and the GR86 was not handed to me with my package of birthday socks.
The good news is, my dealer has it down for delivery within the next two weeks and forwarded me a doc that has my last name next to the vin, so I am feeling pretty good that the deal won't evaporate on me.
My remaining unfounded fear is that it will somehow show up not as I configured it, but as long as it is a premium, has a clutch and is in the correct color, I will be happy.
Happy birthday! I hope when it comes in it's all you want. I'm enjoying mine a lot and think I finally figured out the perfect 2 car garage. For now at least.
I'm headed to the Rolex later this week and I'm really hoping to get a phone call before I head out on Wednesday. That would be a great break in drive.
If not, I will get a few miles closer to my 300,000 goal on my Mercedes wagon.
This is obviously not mine, but this is what I believe I am getting. We shall compare when the real thing arrives.
