Found these today in my late grandparents basement. One 1912 Massachusetts plate, and one 1918 Massachusetts plate. Both in terrible condition, but still pretty cool.

What should I do with these?

Very cool. I have nothing that old. I think my oldest is 1925.

Gently clean (possibly with a toothbrush and an "enzymatic solution")

Seal with B-72, a non-yellowing, optically clear, easily removable resin.

Then put on the wall of your garage.

The only correct answer is buy a 1912 and 1918 car to put them on.

The porcelain 1912 plate is bent up pretty badly from what appears to be a collision. I don't know if I want to straighten it.

Interesting it was made in Beaver Falls, PA. Not exactly an industrial metropolis.

I acquired these recently. All saved by one family from their own cars. The husband died years ago, the wife recently died at nearly 100, and they were going to be thrown out.

Interesting that the state would buy them from an out of state vendor.

Based on some time wasting but interesting googling I just did it appears that Ingram-Richardson was the go to for porcelain anything back in the day.
