I'd like to mark all my nuts and bolts under the track car so I can easily see if things have backed off. On amazon most of these markers seem to be targeted towards the arts and crafts world, I've got a fine tip orange sharpie paint marker but it didn't want to do the trick for me.
What are people using that make a decent mark on the first stroke and don't dry up right away? Thanks!
This is a product made specifically for that. It is a gel in a squeeze tube then cures on the fastener and the line will break if it moves.

Or you could look for the paint markers with the metal valve tip that won't get torn up like a felt tip.

I've used model paint on critical stuff on the Datsun. After 30+ years I know which stuff comes loose So I only need to keep an eye on those items.
With the F500 everything is either, loctite, safety wired, taped (body fasteners) or uses nylock nuts. That car shakes everything loose.
Nail polish, women always have some bright color they bought but never use = free. Will show a crack like the stuff EvanB mentioned.
They sell paint pens at Lowes/Home Depot/Menards in the paint section. I think the most recent one I bought at Menards is a Testors brand, like the model kit paint company. Works like a champ, and was pretty cheap.
I think you can buy here: https://crosschecknow.com/
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'll try raiding some old nail polish first and then buy something if needed.
I did that and wrote any torque specs near the fasteners so I wouldn't have to look them up every time. Because racecar, I didn't mind having numbers everywhere.
We have paint pens all over the place at work, I think we get them from mcmaster. Every now and then I steal one that's been abandoned for home use. The tips aren't the most robust things but as long as you aren't too hard on them and use them on more or less clean surfaces they do just fine. I think I'm up to three sets of marks still clearly visible on the alignment bolts under the rear of my cayman as I make changes. Some time I'll clean it off and start over, but for now it's just "find a new color and mark over the old line".

My wife has plenty of fingernail polishes that she ended up not liking. I use that a lot of the time for stuff like this.
