I know everybody has their favorite top secret goldmine u-pick yard. Any chance someone would be willing to share info about yards in the NY/NJ/CT area? My searches on the interwebs seem to turn up breakers, as opposed to customer harvest type places.

There are a bunch near Hazleton PA, with good selection, some even have old car sections with little turnover.

Woody, I heard Chick's in Wallingford lets you roam around? Never been though.

A&T on Cardinal Road in Hyde Park was the only one in New York that I am aware of... I saw WAS because last time I went the fence was chained shut and it looked pretty much closed for good. They had a ton of 90's era junk, with the "nicer" cars in an area only staff could access.

In reply to mikeatrpi:

I used to go there for bits on my Escort and Cavalier but the last few times I went they were closed.

Specht's in Warwick, NY is a smaller place, but have had some good luck there.

Brim is in Cuddebackville, NY near Middletown. Bigger yard that I need to make a trip to soon.

Junkyard Barbie is down in Morrisville, PA near Trenton. Good prices and they post on facebook about new arrivals.

There used to be a few around me, but they're gone now. There was a huge yard off Union Valley Rd. in Mahopac that had tons of stuff. I got a perfect crack-free dash for my 2002 out of there many years ago.

I've got one up near me in Stafford, ct, but that's only because yet know me, it's not really open to the public to roam around I don't think..

I'm happy to go with you, though :)

I've been to Daddio's in Seymour, CT for a part at one point. They're not a u-pull, but they're happy to take you out back to look at a part they've already got pulled or pick one out from the vehicles in the yard before they pull it.

I used to pull my own parts there but that was years ago, not sure if it's still allowed. It's right off NJTP 8A so it's easy to get to - might be worth a phone call.
