I was wondering if any one has experienced with these tires on a light car. This year I made a switch from nankang ar1 to Yokohama a052. For the 200 tw, that way it opens the opportunity to run more competitive classes. My question is in regards on tire pressure. This past weekend I ran a autocross event I ended up with front 20 psi and 18 psi in the rear. Anything above that the car felt like it was on ice. Ambient temperature were low 50s. Tire size 185/60r13 on a Festiva that weighs about 1900lbs. Is running that low of pressure normal?

Pressure that low is not typical, but neither is a 1900 lb car. :)

Do what works.  Many fast drivers run those tires really low in autocross with great success, especially in cooler weather.  Monitor wear and adjust accordingly.

Thank you. That makes me feel a bit more comfortable in having them so low. I got track day in 2 weeks hopefully weather is a bit better.

I run a sub 1,700 lb Lotus Europa and run A052's but only in the front. 205 on a 15x8. It's very stiff, 2.6* and if I run less than 26 psi, I murder the outer edge.  With more camber I could run less pressure but not at 2.6*. There's an Elise with a very fast driver on A052's with pressure's similar to mine. This is AX.

I've been AutoX-ing my Locost for coming up on 3-seasons on 205/50/15 A052's. I'm at 1400# with driver and my happy place is 15-18psi.

I run 3.5° of camber. That should help me.

Good to know. Thank you guys for all the info. This gives me a better idea for this tire

How did you get these in 13's? Did you import or is there a US retailer?

In reply to Clifton :

I had them imported. Finding a decent competitive tire in 13 is nearly impossible.
