my mo-in-laws '98 s10 with the 2.2l auto told me today that a bunch of dash lights came on... truck has a little over 200k on it

Security, Service engine soon, Low fuel, ABS, and the battery, also the fuel gauge and coolant temp gauge stopped working.

the security light stays on when the keys are taken out.

I do know the service engine light has been on for a while as the 2nd o2 sensor is not reading right (needs replace or the cat needs replaced

the truck seems to run fine.

any ideas on what the issue could be so I can relay that to my father-in-law? thanks mark

Ignition switch or ground issue?

Or i found this:

You have grounds on the passenger side of the transmission bellhousing, the front driver side where the support bar bolts to the engine by the crank pulley, and where your neg battery cable hooks up. Those are the most common.

Their problem seems pretty common and all the fixes had to do with the ignition switch.

Reply back when it gets fixed wont ya?!
