My daughter is going away for a month for an internship, so I am looking over her 1998 Sentra for the trip.
Brakes, right front has a sticky slid pin. Clean and lube front brakes. Check
Fix the rattle at the cat heat shield (again). Check
Oil changed and fluids checked. Check
The car has had an idle problem and would sometimes just stall. I decide to clean the throttle body. The clamp at the air-box end of the air intake hose will not loosen. Remove top of air-box with the hose and ignore stuck clamp. Hey! Lets look at the air filter while we are here. The filter looks ok, but the lower air-box has has leaves, pine needles and road gunk accumulated over 180k miles. Remove bottom of air box to clean it. *sigh*
Yes indeed. I removed the bottom of the air-box to empty it and scrub it out in the shop sink. What is wrong with me?
PS, the air-box bolts were stuck with rust and I am going to put anti-seize on them on installation.
