Are we sure it's not a Beetle Bus with a 911 drivetrain installed? I've ridden in one of those...

Is an Edsel REALLY any more ugly than a contemporary ('58-60) Buick or Pontiac? Okay, except for the '58 Buick, bad examples. But considering the numbers sold for each brand versus period of sales involved (3 years versus nearly 50) you would have to say the 911 "appears" timeless/classic.
Since the title (probably?) states this is a VW and not a Porsche, the real headline should read something along the lines of :
Fastest VW van powered by an air-cooled engine.
That vanagon is water-cooled so technically it aint no 911!
I guess a pop top westy could be considered a convertible...
