I just picked this up this afternoon.
2004 Focus ZX3 2.3l 5-spd, 74k miles
+undetermined lowering springs (too low for me, hitting the bump stops)
+Bosal cat back
+K&N cold air intake
+FocusSport FSB
+newer OEM clutch
+nice Pioneer head unit
+and ice cold AC
Also came with a set of (Eibach?) SportLine springs and an extra wheel/tire.
Plans right now are:
1. Determine what springs are on it now and get something different and more reasonable for an Ohio daily driver.
2. Swap out clear markers, etc. for stock (came with them) or maybe smoked ones.
3. Repair or replace driver's side headlight
4. Keep an eye out for a reasonably priced set of EAP/Focus SES 15-spoke wheels and tires.
5. Repair or replace front chin spoiler passenger side crack.

looks nice.. great colour
Sweet. A little altitude should help it a lot.
Very nice. I like how it looks
Nice. Yeah, it is way too low. Those Eibachs should help. I'd keep the clear corners myself.

SVT springs are cheap new and ride nice.
Sweet car. The 2.3 is a great motor. Good oomf with great emissions.

Eibach Sportlines will still be too low. SVT suspension parts are relatively cheap and a very nice suspension for DD purposes.
I bet some smoked "corners" (I assume you are referring to the bumper side lights) would look a LOT better than the clears

Since it's a bolt-in conversion, I wonder if it's Street Mod-legal...
I don't know if it still is, but a few years ago, this kit was actually in the Ford Racing catalog, which I thought was pretty cool.
It's not SM legal for quite a few reasons.
Exactly what I'm looking for, but with an auto.
Is it verboten to inquire as to what you paid?
mark
Cool. I looked for a long time for a zx3 with a 5 and duratech. I quit and bought an SVT.
The whole SVT kit can be got from many places for damned cheap, Thats a good way to go.
I just swapped out my headlights for the Mach Hids. If you want a set of SVT (black chrome) headlights let me know. All the mounting tabs are there, but the lenses need a polish.
I don't mind sharing - I paid 6k which I think was/is a great deal for the mileage, condition, and how rare the ZX3/2.3/5-spd combo is.
Bob, can you PM me some pics and a shipping estimate to 45177? I've been watching FF and FJ but didn't want to pull the trigger until I had the keys in hand - now of course there is nothing out there! thanks.
Yessir, just give me some time, Im about to go out Ill get you pics/info tonight.
Are the duratech cars really holding their value that well?
I picked up an 03' SVT EAP two years ago for less than that from a dealer! It has since been totaled by a hungry tahoe but I did enjoy the car while I had it.
Sweet car and a rare combination. Ford should have offered this 2.3/5spd/ZX3 with SVT big brakes and suspension....they would have sold a lot of them, especially after the SVT Focus was discontinued.

All Foci, especially 5-spds, have maintained well or even gone up in value in some cases due to demand for smaller fuel efficient vehicles. NADA retail for this car according to my CU is $7900. Also like I said, tough to find them with lower mileage and in this good of condition. Not that any of that really matters, I'm happy with it so....
Cant find my camera, gotta ask my girl tommorrow.
Heres how they look more or less, until I get the camera.
The headlights are 02-04 SVT headlights, which means the chrome is a smoked or black color. No tabs broke. The aim was good and the adjusters work as far as I know. They were never hit as far as I can tell and were on the car since '02, for 80 thousand miles. The lenses are clouded but not really bad, The insides are still visible, but there are splotches. A polish will clean them up nice.
