I had an idea that what would be really cool is to make it so I can use my Corvette's passive keyless entry (PKE, I understand) to open the locks on my front door. I was wondering, is there anywhere I can get the deep tech on these things?

They're probably an RFID system. Passive RFID means the transmitter is not powered unless its antenna is in the presence of an electric current. It then inducts enough power to wake up and transmit a unique code. Think security tags at the book store... they're short range.
An active RFID system means the transmitter is powered itself - usually with a battery. It can transmit a much greater range... measure in feet not inches. This is probably what your corvette uses, but I'm just supposing. You could design a circuit to wake up the transmitter every 1s and advertise its ID wirelessly. You'd then need a receiver circuit to accept the ID and check it for authenticity.

man when it comes to locks on the casa i'll stick with the good ole fashion deadbolt and mean dog as security. Sounds like a very cool idea though. I'd like to see you get it working!

RFID keys FTW!
It kind of sounds like if I were to get serious about it I would need to get access to a junked GM car with one of these systems and tear the dash apart. From the minimal information I've found I don't think it's an RFID system. What would seem to make it more difficult is that I think it's a code rolling system. So, if there were two lock systems the key would get out of sync if it were used with both.
